This years D.E.M.F. / Movement was amazing. Congrats to Paxahau and the City of Detroit for putting on a fantastic show for all of the out of towners that were here for the first time. Bang Tech 12 kicked off the weekend properly with a free show at The New Bookies Tavern. With over 1500 people in attendance, it set the bar really high for the rest of the weekend. Metromix was on hand to take some pictures. Here are some more pictures of the event. This was a Label re-launch for us and I am extremely proud of my whole crew. Everyone pitched in to make this a free event and it went off without a hitch. Thank you Bookies for allowing us to destroy your brand new bar.

Saturday we held the Detroit Techno Militia Afterparty at 5 Elements Gallery. This was a record release event for DTM 004 (see below). 5 Elements Gallery is a decent size, but it could not handle the 1200 plus people that showed up to celebrate with the Militia. Extra thanks go to Colin and Newton from Sonic Synergy. Their sound provided great times for the Bang Tech 12 event and this event as well. The DTM party was capacity early and stayed that way until 5 am. This was a gritty Detroit party that felt like a throwback to the old Packard Plant days. DTM sure knows how to put on a party and the fact that people stayed in line for over an hour just to get inside is a testament to their success.

The Festival itself was a lot of fun. We performed Monday on the Underground Stage. This years setup was either loved or hated. My personal opinion is that the setup of the stage was fun, but the sound was better last year. This year the stage was setup on top of a circle of speakers and that caused a bit of a problem for vinyl DJs. The stage was vibrating due to the bass bins. I assume this made the sound tech turn the entire rig down which caused some people to be displeased with the output. I still had a fantastic time and loved every minute of it. My parents were there and it was only the second time they have been able to witness me perform over the past 15 years. That meant the world to me and I am happy they were able to be there.

My favorite set of the festival was Mark "8en" Moss and Teddy MC. Of course i am biased, but he had the crowd in a frenzy and it was really exciting to see a good friend of mine put together such a beautiful performance.

It has taken me until today, June 4th to finally get my health back to normal. next year i am stocking up on Flinstone Vitamins and Echinacea...
